VehiCom Data, Inc. was formed in 1991 by Tim Twining and provided data communication terminals for updating the status of ready mix trucks wirelessly to dispatch. A ready-mix company inquired about producing a sign that would direct the drivers so the correct truck is under the plant when loading, which became VehiCom first truck callboard. The increase in efficiency was so notable, they quickly ordered a second sign. These signs were made with motorized switches but due to the advance in technology, the company soon began using LEDs to create brighter signs. As other ready-mix companies started seeing the value in the signs, VehiCom made the strategic move to focus on callboard signs as their primary business.

In 2014, ownership of VehiCom Data, Inc. was transferred to Dallas “John” Capesius. John joined the company to design and manufacture the first LED signs and has been updating and revising the signs ever since. He changed the name of the company to Vehicom Signs, LLC to relate closer to the product but the quality and service the customers have come to know will continue.
